KENTWOOD HIGH SCHOOL CHEER - WSCCA Hall of Fame Inductee
Also, a big CONGRATULATIONS to three of our South Elite Team Members for earning 2013 WSCCA College Scholarships! All three of these seniors have maintained outstanding academic records in addition to their demanding cheer schedules. Scholarships are awarded based on their submitted presentation notebooks, academic excellence, community service, letters of recommendation and written essays. We are very proud of these outstanding athletes:
CASSIE BUCHHOLZ is a member of the Titans team graduating from Peninsula Harbor High School. She will be attending the University of Washington to study Biology & Zoology. We wish her good luck when she tries out for the UW Cheer Team this year!
ALLY PEPIN, an Onyx team member, attends Bellarmine Prepatory School and will be moving on to attend the University of Arizona Honors College to study Pre-Retailing and Consumer Sciences. Ally plans to keep up her skills and possibly participate in college cheer in the future.
MADISON RICH is a member of the Diamonds team. She is graduating from Gig Harbor High School and plans to attend at Oregon State University to study pre-med in the fall.
Great Job!
We are VERY excited to the return of our successful FLIPS & TRICKS CAMP!
This specialized TUMBLING camp with feature the amazing talent of renown tumbling Coach Jay Cassi and we are thrilled to bring Jay back to the northwest to work with our teams! While our teams have always been known for their amazing stunts, pyramids and transitions, this year we are placing a strong focus on our tumbling as well and together with Jay’s help we know our athletes will learn a lot and help our athletes take their skills to the next level! No matter if you are working on beginning back handsprings or perfecting your double full, Jay’s talent and expertise will be beneficial to you! This camp will be held at NWCDA on June 14 & 15. Each class will have two intense hours of training each day, and classes will be divided by skill level to assure that athletes are getting the best instruction possible! While this camp is optional, this is a fantastic opportunity to pump up your skills or break through your barriers to take your tumbling skills to the next level for the new season! Mark your calendars and send in your registration with payment to assure your spot!
BEGINNING TUMBLERS: This class is for you too! Similar to building a house, great tumbling requires a strong foundation and Jay will help you learn the necessary skills for a strong foundation to help you move ahead in your tumbling using the technique of “Perfection before Progression”. One of the primary keys to tumbling success is spending time in the gym and practice, practice, practice! We hope you’ll take advantage of this great opportunity, we would love to have more of our teams competing in higher levels, but we can’t do this without more tumbling!
ALL Classes are open to everyone (those who are not South Elite/ Kentwood/Mattson team members must have a release waiver on file.
Form can be downloaded here.
Payments required prior to the start of the first class of the month for Tumbling and Flight School/Base Builder and High School Tryout Classes Please use the attached registration forms to sign up for Clinics.
